2 December 2011
Dear Mission San Jose Chamber Members;
Another year has come and gone in the beautiful village of Mission San Jose. Some businesses have closed and still others have managed to survive and thrive, despite the economic times, and still others are in the process of opening with the hope and promise that this beautiful area has to offer.
The Board of the Mission San Jose Chamber of Commerce still has the goal to see the businesses and residents work together for the enrichment of this wonderful community. That has been my goal over this past two years.
As I leave office, but continue to be a part of this dedicated Board of Directors, I would like you to know that we have:
- Donated to the Aging and Family Services of Fremont, “Urgent Care Fund,” which helps provide general services throughout the year to families in need.
- We have completed the new Daffodil Project that will help instill pride and beauty to the community this spring.
- We have hosted Chamber Mixers at several businesses this year to encourage support of each others businesses.
- We participated in the Fremont 4th of July Parade which is always fun…Thank you Hat Ladies of Mission San Jose Chamber!
We did not have the Olive Festival this year, due to a lack of funds and person power, but we hope to bring it back in 2012 with more funding and new found commitment. Another project that we were not able to complete was a new local farmers market right here in the Mission. We have not given up and plan tp raise the money over this next year with more information for you after the holidays.
So as this year draws to a close, the areas where we need your support are:
a) vote for your new board members and get this ballot back to us before December 20th.
b) continue to support this Chamber with a financial contribution. Without your support we cannot continue to create new ideas and events to enrich this wonderful community.
My best to you, your businesses and families during the holiday season.
Gael E. Stewart, President
Mission San Jose Chamber of Commerce
